Cambridge National Level 2 Creative IT

Coronavirus Closure

Following on from the updated Government directive on school opening Beauchamp College is now closed to all but children of key workers at Beauchamp, Sir Jonathan North, Judgemeadow  and Brocks Hill Primary School who have registered for a place.

From personal computers to smartphones, from websites to apps, all of our lives are enhanced through the use of ICT.

Creative IT will equip learners with a range of creative media skills and provide opportunities to develop, in context, desirable, transferable skills such as research, planning, and review, working with others and communicating creative concepts effectively. Through the use of these skills, learners will ultimately be creating fit-for-purpose creative media products. This course will also challenge all learners, including high attaining learners, by introducing them to demanding material and techniques; encouraging independence and creativity and providing tasks that engage with the most taxing aspects of the course.

There are three centre assessed units offering practical task-based assessment, alongside the examined unit of assessment. The completed course leads to a grade between Distinction* to Pass. The assessed units are worth 25% of the final grade and include:

  • Creating digital graphics
  • Creating a multipage website
  • Creating a digital sound sequence
  • Pre-production skills.
