We are incredibly excited about the prospect of seeing young people develop during their time at Beauchamp and want to work closely in partnership with parents/carers and their children. Making a decision about where to send your child to study can often be difficult, however we believe that Beauchamp offers the very best opportunity for academic success and the most rewarding journey from Year 7 to 11 and onto KS5, work, or further training.

As our students come from a range of cultural, ethnic, economic, linguistic and faith backgrounds, this has greatly enriched our daily college experience as we learn together and from one another. Inspired by this diversity we believe in pursuing excellence and equity for all. As a result, every year our students prove they can compete successfully in all fields as they move onto university, work and other training opportunities such as apprenticeships.
We feel privileged to work at Beauchamp and believe it is a fantastic college that provides our students with a high quality education, continual support and a huge range of other opportunities. To get a flavour of this we invite all prospective students and their parents/carers for a tour of our college during the college day so that you can get a true view of our daily college routine.
Over the last two years, Beauchamp has run close to 100 trips. Some of the highlights included trips to France, Tanzania and Los Angeles. Out-of-classroom learning makes a unique contribution to a students’ education and offers many varied benefits. At Beauchamp College students have many opportunities to access these activities within various departments. During the Summer of 2018 students and staff travelled to Tanzania to take part in voluntary work with Camps International. In 2020 a similar trip will take place to Costa Rica. Students have also had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles with Media Studies. A ski trip to Austria is planned for 2019 which will enable many students to demonstrate their resilience, as they master their technique. Many UK residentials have also taken place during the year.
At Beauchamp, our aim is to provide a curriculum that engages and challenges all students and supports our vision of academic excellence and holistic development. The introduction of our KS3 provision in September 2017 has enabled us to view our curriculum as a 7 year journey which will equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to progress through life with confidence and engender a life-long love of learning.

Following on from the updated Government directive on school opening Beauchamp College is now closed to all but children of key workers at Beauchamp, Sir Jonathan North, Judgemeadow and Brocks Hill Primary School who have registered for a place.
GCSE English Language allows students to develop their reading and writing skills by encouraging them to study a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
Students will leave the course able to analyse fiction and write creatively themselves; whilst also developing transactional writing skills and an ability to close read 19th Century and modern texts.
100% exam which consists of two separate papers sat in the summer of year 11.

Paper 2: Writers’ Viewpoints and Perspectives
Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities. In the past many students have had short stories put in print as a result of entering into faculty supported national competitions and students are also encouraged to enter poetry competitions in support of local and national charities. Students who are enthusiastic about English will be able to join the English society, ‘Supernova’ which is student run and allows students a place to discuss their creativity and enjoyment of reading. Supernova students also participate in a range of theatre visits in addition those offered as part of the curriculum.
Both English Language and English Literature provide the foundations for all A-Level subjects. Both GCSEs are highly regarded and recognised as offering employers and higher education institutions a clear indication of student’s literacy and ability to communicate. Students who excel at English go on to work in marketing, publishing, law, journalism, teaching, academic pursuits and within the television and film media.
