Studying English at Beauchamp helps students develop creativity, a love of reading and practical literacy skills.

Our teachers encourage students to become enthusiastic and analytical in their approach to fiction and non-fiction writing and to help them become capable and confident readers and writers. Our students have an outstanding reputation for achieving fantastic exam results and we have close relationships with the major exam boards, with many teachers working as examiners and helping to write both the GCSE and A-Level specifications. All students leave Key Stage 4 with 2 separate GCSEs in English and English Literature and many continue their studies at Key Stage 5 in one of our three A-Level choices. English students at Beauchamp enjoy the enthusiasm and lively approach to the subject that they find here, while also feeling secure in the knowledge that they fully understand the requirements of the exam board.
