Production Arts

This course is for highly organised students who work well as a team member and prefer continual assessment rather than examinations.

Whether they have a passion for the Performing Arts in general, are keen to experience first hand experience of working ‘behind the scenes’ or want to support their on stage skills with a broader range of knowledge making them more employable in the future, then this is the perfect course for them.

The BTEC courses are designed to be as practical and work based as possible which means students will often find themselves planning, organising, preparing for and running college and local productions and events. An ability to work consistently and to deadlines is essential and at times learning will take place outside of the college and timetable. Excellent facilities in a purpose built studio are available to students on this course.

This course is particularly suitable for students who are interested in studying Stage and or Performance Management, Performing Arts or Theatrical Design at University or are hoping to pursue a career in the field, such as:

    • Technical theatre and management
    • Stage Lighting, sound, set design, costume etc – Stage performance
    • Direction
