Celebrating outstanding A-level success

It was smiles all around at Beauchamp College, as our Year 13 students collected another outstanding collection of A-level results.

Enjoying a varied curriculum, our 325 sixth form students took A-levels (or equivalent courses) in 35 courses this year, achieving a 99% pass rate, which included strong success in creative subjects, humanities and STEM.

A massive 26% of the cohort had an average grade of A or above, with 15 students acquiring an A* average across the subjects they studied.

With many students hoping to continue they educational journey at prestigious universities, we were thrilled that 73% of our higher education applicants received offers from leading providers.

Among these was student governor, Nicky, who achieved three As, enough to secure her place at the University of Nottingham to study medicine. Embarking down a similar career path, Aaishah is off the University of Leicester, also to study medicine, after getting four A*s and one A.

The success stories continued. Adam collected a stunning set of results, consisting of five straight A*s; he will now head to the University of Cambridge where he will study Engineering.

Hasib achieved A, B, C, and will study Computer Science at Loughborough University, while Poppy can look forward to an exciting new adventure in Scotland, where she will study Sociology and Psychology at The University of Edinburgh.

Those students who took Graphics courses also did their teachers proud, with 47.6% achieving either an A* or A, and a magnificent 90% coming out with A* - B.

John Oswin, Head of Sixth Form at Beauchamp College, said: “We are immensely proud of our Year 13s for attaining their excellent results.

“Their dedication has been truly inspiring, and we are excited about the wonderful opportunities that their results will provide for them.

“Many of our Year 13s joined us way back in Year 7 and others have been with us for two years. Each and every student has made a contribution to our community, and we will always look back at this cohort fondly,” he continued.

“Being a small part of their personal journeys towards becoming scholars and adults has been a privilege and I wish them all the very best in their next steps. Congratulations Year 13!”
