Young golfers shine in local competition

Competing against 40 other young golfers – varying in age and experience – Geet and Hanson performed admirably; Geet finished second in the young girls category, while Hanson also finished as runner up in the young boys category.

Having both taken up the sport of golf a little over four years ago, this accomplishment represents remarkable progress. Alongside this most recent success, the pair have also triumphed in a range of other local and national competitions. They have both won the Golf Sixes and other Flag 50 competitions, Geet even managed to finish second in the Young Girls Midlands Golf Competition in 2022. Despite tying with the winner, she was awarded second place via a count back.

So, what next for our golfing duo?

Well, they have both set their sights on getting a handicap before next summer. This will allow them to participate in competitions of a higher standard, like Robert Rock Junior Golf.
